June 2007 Meeting Minutes

Summer Plans Approved:

q Approved painting of sleeping porch and main bathroom-contracted, due to complete late June.

q Approved purchases for house: vacuum (using $400 from Theta Nu damage deposits), teak bath mats for main bathroom, shower curtains/rings for senior addition bathrooms (4). Items to be delivered on work weekend, June 23^rd

Fundraising Ideas: 2-year model/ Goal= $20,000

q Have letter in to Nationals by end of July.

q Jenn will mail this letter and we will send her our input on how to fill it out.

q Bathroom contacts for Lindsay…please call Shannon he might be great, Lindsay has other local contractor friend, Shaun Wilson 939-6829.

q Plan to complete “delta” shaped colored tiles or colored engraving for wall above paper towel rack at Silver= $1500 donation, Gold=$100, Blue=$500. We will encourage pledge class challenges!

q We will email letter of request for funds, put letter in the mail, post on tridelta incircle.

q Possible silent auction at Homecoming? Get collegians involved the following year?

Work Weekend:

q Due to numbers of able Deltas, we have changed the work weekend to a work “day” on Saturday, June 23^rd. Departure from Safeway 7am with Kim/Kallie driving cars down for carpooling. (Safeway on Maple/3^rd)

q BBQ items will be purchased in Pullman so head count can be correct. Lunch is on your own and at this time we plan to come home and not spend the night. We feel we can get the house cleaned! We will print a huge cleaning list for those to mark off what has been finished for efficiency. Cleaning time 8:30am-6pm, with a BBQ at 6!

Other:

q Officer duties discussed.

o Jenn announced need to not be president of House Cor.

o Member recruitment needed.

o Kim shared her feelings on being overwhelmed and wanting duties a little more shared.

o Possible rotation of officer duties…every 2 years if we could get a bigger group involved!

o A list to be created on how to help the collegians email/call appropriate members for items needed or questions answered.

o Shared responsibility by all to divide up visits to WSU. J

q Danna emailed House Cor thanking us for the gift certificate. Very grateful!

q Cards signed for current Parent Club parents and Carolyn will mail these.

To DO List:

1. Kallie to confirm with Penny/Lindsay paint colors of specific walls before they’re painted! ASAP
2. Kallie to purchase approved items, ship to Kim, then delivered on work weekend.
3. Kallie to purchase BBQ items in Pullman for work weekend.
4. Kim to bring BBQ.
5. Jenn to complete fundraising app letter—house cor members should send their input for required items on form to Jenn. Letter in by July 25.
6. Lindsay to finalize a bathroom COMPLETE remodel plan by no later than Aug. 1^st. Call contractors to get bid.
7. Lindsay to check on ‘letter engraving’ into tile for fundraising incentive idea.
8. Kim to check with Danna about repayment of $400 for vacuum.
9. Kim to check with Penny on painting go ahead and follow up on date of job.
10. Kim to print large poster of cleaning list for work weekend power day!
11. Kim to change/update Evite to reflect new “Power Day” cleaning plan.
12. Wendy to find out how to get a mailer of addresses for Deltas in the Northwest for fundraising letter. (Krissy said she has local alums…cost is $100 to send to all here)
13. Wendy to bring cleaning supplies (specifically-white vinegar, toilet bowl cleaner)
14. Wendy to contact Denise on price of current DDD sign.
15. All to think about how to divide up duties more equally for officers and to help the house know who to contact for what.

March Minutes

House Corp Meeting Monday, March 26, 2007

Kim and Jenn in attendance

Discussion on Kim’s cleaning contract, $3000.00 for summer house clean

Will develop a checklist to be given to Kim

Will conduct followup visit to check the work for satisfactory condition

Entertained idea of Alum Assoc doing a “project” for the house

Obtained prioritized wish list from women – main want is a remodel of main bathroom – possible fundraising event –Jenn will followup with Wendy’s letter and work on getting it submitted to Nationals

Kim and Jenn looked at the fence around parking lot, still an area that students are getting through. Jenn making a followup phone call to Fence company

Still need curtains in Cat’s Meow

Request for new curtain hooks in main bathroom, current ones are not working and falling apart…..anyone know how to obtain hotel quality supplies for remodel?

The drawers in the rooms are sticking due to wear and tear on wood – need to look into that repair

Possible water damage in Hole in Wall and Porch

Hoping to get Penny to obtain bid to paint the sleeping porch, women hope to have a sisterhood to decorate with stars and crescents when they return in the fall if we can get the room painted

Need for bath mats in the Main bathroom-blue to match new paint. Also girls thought mirrors on wall when you walk in (where furnance)
