House Cor Meeting
Members present: Kallie, Carolyn, Wendy, Kim
Special Guest: Cammie Baird
Agenda Items:
Bathroom Remodel- measurements/ Autocad by Wendy’s daughter, plan will be submitted to Carolyn’s dad and Kallie’s contact/ Cammie’s contact (via Wendy’s Mackleit’s contact)
• Actually we hired an architect to do the drawing on 4/11/08.
Update from House-Kallie
Replacement Items
Repairs
House Mom Notebook-girls working on its contents (list of duties, etc)
Painting the rooms
Replace coach/reupholster- 2 chairs need fixing (fabric)
Shannon has been hired to fix roof leaks
Yard needs work from summer snow-okayed by Kallie to Penny
House Mom Apartment: desk, entertainment center, filing cabinet, lamp/table, bedroom armoire,
Needs: Replace double/full bed and bathroom sink (ask new mom what is needed)
Ceiling problems between breezeway/senior edition---fixed by Shannon on May 4th
Link in Porch/Endzone-to be fixed by Shannon
Hardwood floors- refinished in August ($5000)- Penny could schedule this?
Convection Oven- should be in soon.
Kadja to clean house $1300/Hire outside cleaner?- we will supply cleaning list
Request to paint rooms/recover daybeds
• Possible work party with Parent’s Club/Alums to paint (June 21st)
o Hallway, Kitchenette, 8 rooms
*Penny at house until end of May
May Visit- Sunday May 18th Leave at 10:30am
• Look for possible locations for snack/pop machines
• Guest room
• Penny’s room
• Toilets in Lounge/guest bathroom
• Take pics of couch/furniture colors
• Buy new couch and possibly reupholster or purchase new chairs
• Penny will be available that day!

Day bed covers/ stove/microwave/portable island
Interview Questions for Upcoming House Mom:
1. What other duties and obligations do you see that fall under the role of our House Director?
1. As our House Director we expect your cooperation in maintaining open communication to our House Corporation. They will communicate with you via email, phone calls and personal visits. At what times do you think you will need to contact them? ( Answer: major repairs, vandalism, trouble with morale/conduct of chapter, summer repairs, safety survey, fire inspections)
2. As House Director your organization skills will be called to keep our house tidy. What are your qualifications with organizing?
3. We will also need you to do calls on getting bids and follow through on making sure all problems are fixed and resolved. Is this something you are able to do? Example: The toilet begins to flood, the water heater goes out, the washer is leaking? What do you do in each of these situations? (Answer: Anything needing immediate fixing should be called in to the repair facility, anything that can be called into House Cor first should also been done)
4. Weekends in the kitchen are relaxed and our cook is not employed. Are you willing to facilitate quick meals with the assistance of the cook on Friday or any house boys? ( ie. Taco bar, potato bar, salad bar, pizza)
5. You are our first line of defense. The door bell ringing late at night, any security breaches will need your attention. Are you comfortable and willing to step to this duty?
6. The house will need repairs or light bulbs changed, instead of paying for each item your creativity and handiwork is needed. How do you see yourself in this role?
7. Pets? These actually aren’t allowed but exceptions have been made however, pets are only to be in the apartment area.
TO DO:
1. Email Penny regarding follow up on: rotation of mattresses-how many to buy,
2. Email list of possible interview questions- house manager/president
3. Paint splotches possibilities chosen for mom’s weekend-Cammie (Girls' rooms/hallway/kitchenette)
4. Follow up to sign up parents for June 21st work party.
5. House Cleaner needed- recommend to go outside, 70 hours, deep clean
6. Hardwood floors -Kallie to check on availability of tile guy.
7. Krissy- $4000 for bathroom remodel-Kim
8. Carolyn- take plan to dad to get bid
9. Cammie- to check with tile pricing and how to engrave
10. House Cleaning- Kallie to follow up with House Manager/President (July 15th start date)
